I was tasked to deliver a unique display typeface. While sketching my initial ideas, I made a few serendipitous mistakes that I decided to run with. The result was a fun display of a pseudo-serif typeface. I created the name from the words “serendipity” and “digital”. Serendipity is defined as “An unsought, unintended, and/or unexpected, but fortunate, discovery and/or learning experience that happens by accident.” I wanted to show the whimsical and fun side of this typeface while still grounding it to its digital mono-width roots.
