I created a series of four books from the collection of stories commonly known as the Arabian Nights. After doing some research, I decided to only include the stories that were included in traditional collections. The stories were set up in different styles; some were simple short stories, and others extended to a chapter style. I set up guidelines that were able to bridge the differences in structure. After working with a printer to print the contents, I hand bound each book using a coptic style binding. The result was an eye catching book that had unique proportions, yet still felt welcome in the reader’s hands.
